Guys

Thanks for a great product. I'd like to make a couple of suggestions the the map view.

1. There are a lot of redundant descriptors displayed when labels are used for roads or towns - for example roads often display multiple labels for the same road on top of each other. Can't you rationalise these ?

2. Map print. Print uses only about half the useful area of an A4 page. There's no need for the title information. Also the font used for label print is massive in comparison to the area printed. It makes printing the map almost useless. I don't plan to use this printed map as PRIMARY, but it's nice to be able to see what's on the Easyplan version to be able to transfer to a regular chart.

3. Vertical nav. It would be nice to have some additional intel added to this, such as crossing reporting points, sector boundaries, airspace horizontal/vertical limits etc. It would also be useful to be able to easily plan to avoid controlled airspace by selecting "remain under TMA etc" - the program could surely interpret this and plan altitudes and climb/descent profiles to stay under controlled airspace ?

4. Airways. Very few of the published airways seem to display, not sure why.

If CAA aren't going to make procedure charts available online (Sid/Star, Approach, Airport layout etc) why don't you guys add these to the database ? It would be great to be able to do this all in one. Same goes for NOTAMs - I find File2fly a pain to use (when it's online) so I phone in my flight plans, which means a more intelligent source of NOTAMs would be fantastic.....just a thought.....

1. We get the names in segments so it’s a little difficult to rationalize. I normally don’t label roads and rivers, but maybe label dams and towns.

2. Check if “Print Vertical Nav” is disabled. This will increase the size of the map. Will look at title font.

3. Will look at what can be done to display boundaries. I am hesitant to set flight levels, and prefer to clearly present all the information and we, the pilot s, decide what flight level is optimal.

4. Working on these!

5. I like the suggestion!

Just suggestions.....it's nice to see you guys are at least listening, even if some ideas are dof.....

Re (3) - I didn't mean to imply that EP decides FL's, it was about the info presented. Not that I'm suggesting you copy anyone but if you look (for example) at this, you might get some ideas.... ;-)

Hox Stephen - added to this - would it be possible to create a criteria whereby the user could select under "Units + Preferences" runway lengths / parameters to display? I am aware that you have Microlight airfields listed and they are a purple/burgundy in colour but there are some airfields where at elevation, - I only want to see those that satisfy my requirement - user selectable runway lengths = eg:- greater in length than 900 metres. Additionally - it would de clutter the map when Registered airfields in a small area is selected.

I think it is also good for the user to know your 2nms criteria wrt TOC or TOD points - they will not display if they are within 2nms for example of a boundary point on that track.

Could you increase the time by say 2 secs of the drop down box which highlights the purpose of the filter level; Auto Filter level and Ground feature hint?

I suggest that you update your Help file with Google Earth interactivity.

When one highlights a Dam (the blue colour) - it then changes to green and then back to blue again. While “label” is selected - the text of the label is then hidden behind the blue after this action. One has to click again outside the area for the label to be displayed.

As always Stephen - and you know what I think of your good work. :)

I would love to see the phone number for ATC (if avaliable) under the field info and have it printed with the rest of the log.

Blue skies,

Stephen - additionally - could you facilitate the user deciding for himself which columns under Units & Preferences/ Flight Log - the heading/order of the columns?

As a navigator - the Track - then wind (degrees)/velocity then heading was always the order of priority - and I like that - could you allow us to move the columns into positions we prefer?

Haven't seen you for some time :)

If you select "original" for the Flight Log Print Format then you can select the columns and the order.
I will see what I can do to allow column selection for the "Fixed Formats".

I am new to your Easy Planner and I cannot believe how I managed without it for the last 20 years of flying - a really great product. Most of the features I was looking for were indeed supported. However, it would be great if the Vertical Navigation viewn can show TMA, CTA, ATZ etc vertical and horizontal boundaries. This will be a really useful feature. I see this idea was already suggested in 2007? Any chance of it being added sometime in the near future?

Stephen

When looking up an airfield under the "Points" tab, would it be possble to have the selected airfield be highlighted on the map and the map centred around that airfield.

If the feature exists and I'm ebing dof please point me in the right direction...

thanks for an excellent product!
